Commemorating the victory over Turkish invaders, The Sinjska alka  is an equestrian competition which has been held  in the town of Sinj,  since 1715. It is a competition of an equestrian art, in which alkar horsemen attempt to aim lances at a hanging metal ring (alka) at full gallop.
