Adriatic Games heat up in Kastel Luksic

Tonight the best of the best go head to head in Kastel Luksic in the Adriatic Games’ semi-finals.
In their third year, the games aim to bring closer together locals and guests of all ages while promoting the region’s traditions. Local teams compete in 6 Adriatic-inspired disciplines including the Prsut Climb and Carry the Fish Crate over the course of 100 days in over 30 destinations.
At last night’s general practice, the teams showed what they were made of and gave some indications as to what we can expect to see in Kastel Luksic tonight.
Team Ploca, still sailing on the wings of its victory in last week’s first televised show of the season in Rogoznica, arrived in Kastel well-rested, visibly tan and all smiles. But their laid -back appearance might well be deceiving. They came to win, they reassure us, and have been working hard on bringing their skills in all other disciplines up to par with their take-no-prisoners Tug of War technique.
Second-placed team Konavala proved to have great strategy in all the games, but clearly found their strong suit in Rescue the Female Tourist. This discipline, though, proved to be the most difficult for the team from Solin, finalists in last year’s games, who last night sunk their boat rather than saved the tourist, causing a commotion among team members which even led to penalty points.
Nonetheless, as team captain Nikola Perajica says, the general practice is just that – practice – and serves to warm up the teams for Sunday’s semi-finals. Be sure not to miss them and watch either in person or on Croatia’s Channel 1 at 8:10 p.m. tonight!
