Sibenik

Rating: 5.0/5 (3 votes cast)

Sibenik is something of a well-kept secret, tucked away just an hour north of Split. A fairly small town, Sibenik’s main attraction is stunning St. James Cathedral, a protected Renaissance construction that features unique, lifelike sculptures of the town’s then inhabitants. Though it can seem a little sleepy, two music festivals rock Sibenik during the summer months: Terraneo, just outside the city center, and Garden, on nearby Murter Island.

Winter brings many fable-like sceneries, and Sibenik‘s Robert Visiani Park isn’t short on its share. Add evergreen trees and old-style lanterns, and the only thing missing is a book by Charles Dickens.   more...
